I Am StrongGrief recovery is a process. In the upcoming months and years, there will be many of “first” things. I remember the first time I went to the grocery store. If you knew Nick, you would know that he was a very patient man, who loved to shop as much as I did. I remember the first night I slept without him. The first church service I attended without him….. It took me several months just to go back to church. Unfortunately, it was very hard for me to worship while being in so much pain. I later realized that in the presence of God, is exactly where I needed to be.

No one can tell you how long the mourning process will last. Even when the intensity of the pain levels out, life is never like it was before your loved one died. Remind yourself of the good, surround yourself with positive people, be gracious to yourself, write your thoughts out, make positive decisions and move forward. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay not to be perfect. It’s okay not to have the answers. But in the midst of it all, Never Stop Living. On the other side of your tragedy, someone else is waiting for you to pull them through their hardship.
